Dr Lorraine Gamman - Senior Research Fellow, Design Against Crime Research Initiative, Central Saint Martins
Lorraine organised the contextual research program for product and industrial design students at Central Saint Martins between 1992-2000 developing context based design research methods connecting theory to practice for use in undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. Lorraine Gamman has broadcast extensively and published numerous books, including 'In the Bag: A Design Against Crime Resource (2001) and co-authored with Sean O’Mara, Dirty Washing - the Hidden Language of Soap Powder Packaging a catalogue to accompany last year's Design Museum exhibition. In 2002 Dr, Gamman also set the design brief and collaborated with Vexed Generation on the delivery of the Karrysafe range of anti theft bags and accessories.

Vexed Generation design clothing, accessories and retail environments that aim to respond to and influence social trends. Vexed seek to generate debate as well as provide utility to users. In 2002 Vexed collaborated with Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design’s Design Against Crime research initiative to design and produce the Karrysafe range of bags. Bags and accessories designed to reduce the opportunities, and in doing so the occurrences, of street robbery and bag theft.
